A young man is confined in a mental hospital. Through a flashback we see that he was traumatized as a child, when he and his family were circus performers: he saw his father cut off the arms of his mother, a religious fanatic and leader of the heretical church of Santa Sangre (“Holy Blood”), and then commit suicide. Back in the present, he escapes and rejoins his surviving and armless mother. Against his will, he “becomes her arms” and the two undertake a grisly campaign of murder and revenge.

The Day Draws Near

That’s right, campers – the annual Halloween & Day of the Dead Film Festival is almost upon us. Four days of creepy film fun awaits all who seek refuge in the healing waters of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico – the only town to name itself after a television show. The weather is wonderful at this time of year, rates are affordable and the films will be weird. There will be costumes, a demonstration of the theramin (the world’s first electronic instrument), baked goods and a hot blues gig as noted actor/musician Gary Farmer brings his red hot blues band The Troublemakers down from Santa Fe. yada-yada-yada. To make a long story short; if you want the shit scared out of you – come to T or C for Halloween. Nuff said.
